SUCCESS FOR PENTRIDGE AT 2023 MASTER BUILDERS VICTORIA EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION AWARDS
Opening its doors to the community of Coburg in late 2020, Pentridge, once Victoria’s largest prison complex, is now a bustling precinct entrenched in over 170 years of history.
Restoring Pentridge to its former glory was a transformation that took multiple teams of contractors. The dedication and the finesse showcased by engaged contractor, Construction Engineering, was recognised at this year’s Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards.
Award for Best Specialist Contractor
Construction Engineering was contracted to undertake the rebuild of the 55m long and 10m high wall high wall located at the heritage site. The once standing wall built over 150 years ago required modern engineering and construction techniques to resemble the scattered bluestone blocks. Meeting the requirements of Heritage Victoria, Construction Engineering with the assistance of engineers and contractors were acknowledged for successfully rebuilding the wall while preserving the historical significance of the site.
Award for Excellence in Fitout $5M-$10M
The craftmanship displayed by Construction Engineering on their delivery of the fitout for the Pentridge Adina Hotel was the second achievement commended at the awards evening. Construction Engineering was applauded for their ability to incorporate original elements from the site into the construction and design of the Hotel.
